BREAKING NEWS: 30% Covid-19 test rate in Saipan; 1 may be a child

(Tumon, Guam) Thirty percent of the tests conducted for Covid-19 in the Northern Mariana Islands have come back positive as of today. Eleven of the 37 tests confirm Coronavirus infection in the Commonwealth.


This is according to the latest release by the Office of the Governor of the CNMI dated Wednesday, April 8.


According to the document, one of the females infected with the virus is between the ages of 5 and 19 years old (this is one bracket in the age bracket breakdown offered by the government in its profile of cases). Three males and one female are between the ages of 20 and 49 years old. Two males and two females are between the ages of 50 and 64 years old. And one male and one female are 65 years of age or older.


Included in the count of 11 Coronavirus infections are the two, who died (previously reported). That brings the fatality rate for confirmed infections in the Commonwealth to about 18 percent.
