(Tumon, Guam) Check the mail this afternoon if you're owed a tax refund and you filed an A-status return by March 31 this year. The Department of Administration today mailed the balance of checks promised by Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero last week.
A new batch of checks were processed this past weekend by the Department of Revenue and Taxation covering A-status refunds through April 15 filings. Those checks have not yet been delivered to DOA for auditing and mailing.
The administration has not said whether there is enough money in the bank to pay the refunds through April 15 this week. The refunds for filings through April 15 must be paid by October 15, though, according to the permanent injunction issued by District Court Judge Consuelo Marshall in the opinion she issued in the 2011 case, Paeste v. Government of Guam.
