President Trump has declared the nation in a state of emergency over the Coronavirus pandemic.
"I am officially declaring a national emergency," the president declared from the Rose Garden.
The emergency will open up $50 billion for state and local governments to respond to the outbreak.
Mr. Trump also is giving the Secretary of Health and Human Services emergency authority to waive federal regulations and laws, effectively giving doctors and hospitals flexibility in treating patients.
