CAR Score falls below 5.0

By Johnnie Rosario

Guam's COVID Area Risk (CAR) Score now is 4.2. That is below the target score of 5.0 that Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero says she wants to see sustained for a period of time before releasing certain COVID-19 restrictions.

Dr. Felix Cabrera, who is a member of the governor's physicians advisory group, said he recommends two weeks of scores at or below 5.0 before the governor releases restrictions on the island.

The CAR Score accounts for the incidence of new cases, how well current testing identifies these cases, and the rate of spread.
