CNMI CUC Saipan & Tinian offices open tomorrow morning; CUC advises residents on generator handling

(Tumon, Guam) Saipan and Tinian residents who need to purchase prepay load, make payments or conduct other critical transactions with the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation may do so at either the Saipan or Tinian Customer Centers between 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday. Those offices will close after 12 p.m. in preparation for Typhoon Bualoi.


The Rota Customer Center will be remain open and will be business as usual unless the situation changes, according to a statement from the CUC, issued on the CNMI Office of the Governor Facebook page.


Advisory on generator back feed

The CUC also advises residents using generators to ensure that their main breaker "on their home panel is turned off to prevent any electrical feedback. This poses a danger to line crew and severe injury and death can result from these incorrectly installed generators," according to a public advisory from the CUC.
