CNMI Governor scheduled to enter Guam today; expected to bypass mandatory quarantine

By Eric Rosario

The Guam Governor’s Office has confirmed CNMI Gov. Ralph Torres is scheduled to enter Guam today.

Mr. Torres likely will be exempted from mandatory quarantine. The Guam quarantine policy toward travelers from Saipan has changed since a sudden spike in coronavirus infections in Saipan the past week.

“He will likely make the request for exemption,” governor’s spokeswoman Krystal Paco-San Agustin told Kandit.

Asked what the basis for such an exemption would be, Ms. Paco-San Agustin said, “I haven’t seen the request so I am unsure.”

This is a developing story.
