Grandparents say their drunk grandson pushed grandma

By Eric Rosario

A 75-year-old man asked police to remove his 34-year-old grandson, Joshua Anthony Munoz, from the old man's home on Father's Day after Mr. Munoz allegedly pushed his 79-year-old grandma in the chest.

According to prosecutor Renaida San Nicolas, the elderly woman was emotional when she spoke with police officers. She told him that their grandson came home at 9 p.m. that night and was drunk. He was offended, when she asked him to clean his mess in the kitchen and he started yelling at her, according to her statement to police.

"[She] became frightened of [her grandson]," Ms. San Nicolas's declaration of probable cause reads.

She wanted him removed from the house because she feared for her safety and the safety of her husband.

Police Officer Julian Laxamana, who first responded to the call for help, said he had to call for backup, when Mr. Munoz became belligerent and was disturbing the peace in the neighborhood.

Ms. San Nicolas is charging Mr. Munoz with misdemeanor family violence, and disorderly conduct as a petty misdemeanor.
