It's already a tropical storm

(Tumon, Guam) Tropical Storm 20W has reached tropical storm strength, according to data from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. It is now 755 nautical miles east of Guam, continuing along a Westward track with maximum sustained winds at 40 mph.


The storm also has begun to slow down as it intensifies, moving now at 17 mph, according to JTWC.



This quickly intensifying storm will reach maximum sustained winds of over 50 mph within 12 hours, and will become a typhoon within 36 hours as it passes the Marianas. The forecasted track has the storm affecting the northern Marianas most.
