JTWC upgrades chances of Invest 94W becoming a storm; models agree it’s headed toward Marianas

By Barbara Brown

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center has upgraded the potential for Invest 94W to become a storm over the next 24 hours from low to medium.

The weather system was last located 133 nautical miles southeast of Chuuk, which is southeast of Guam. Global models are in general agreement that if the system continues to develop, it will move northwestward toward the Mariana Islands.

It still is too early to predict the strength of this weather system, if it will reach our region, or if it will reach threatening strength if it does.

Stay tuned to Kandit for the latest updates on Invest 94W.
