(Hagatna, Guam) The patient diagnosed with Dengue this past Monday is a Mangilao resident. The Department of Public Health and Social Services does not have information on the patient's employment or health status.
DPHSS officials also are unable to confirm if the patient attends school.
Kandit asked why laboratory testing for this patient and others had to be read off island. Bertha Taijeron, DPHSS spokeswoman, said she will ask the territorial epidemiologist why this is and get back to us with an answer.
The Guam Public Health Laboratory is capable of conducting this testing, according to Ms. Taijeron. She stated results from the lab come back within 24 hours of testing.
