Manamko-beater on the loose

(Tumon, Guam) A fat man with a dark complexion beat an elderly woman in Dededo and stole her purse on Thanksgiving morning.


The Guam Police Department is asking for the public's help to find the man.


According to police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao, the suspect is described as a "heavy set man with dark complexion//black curly hair//5'8" in height, was seen fleeing on a mountain bike with the victim's bag."


At around 9:45 a.m., officers from the Dededo precinct responded to the report of a robbery complaint at Bejado's Barber on Loretta St. in Dededo.

"Preliminary reports suggest that the female victim was struck from behind by an unknown man, while inside the establishment," the release from Mr. Tapao states. "The 61-year-old woman was transported to Guam Regional Medical City for treatment and care."


The police are asking for your help to solve this case and bring the suspect to justice. "Should anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have Information relative to this case. You are asked to call our dispatchers at 472-8911 or 475-8615-7.


"Information can also be submitted anonymously through the Guam Crime Stoppers tip line at guam.crimestoppersweb.com. All tip Information will remain completely confidential and a cash reward of up to $1000 could be paid if the Information provided leads to an arrest and a grand jury indictment."
