Maxine Waters tells Guam governor that MSN is to thank for funding

By Jacob Nakamura

While Congressman Michael San Nicolas's detractors have been telling Guamanians he played no part in securing federal funds to help Guam during the public health crisis, one of the most powerful members of Congress told the governor of Guam that, indeed, the credit is his.

House Financial Services Committee chairwoman Congresswoman Maxine Waters told Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero during a hearing the governor attended virtually that Mr. San Nicolas should be thanked for his efforts to secure funding and recognition for Guam. Mr. San Nicolas is the chairman of the committee.

Ms. Waters, addressing the governor, gave accolades to Mr. San Nicolas immediately following the governor's testimony, where she asked Congress for more funding.
