New EIP & return of $600/week FPUC under Congressional relief package

By Jacob Nakamura

Congressman Michael San Nicolas has announced a new round of economic impact payments and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation payments are in the works in the U.S. House of Representatives. Senate passage of this new version is more likely, according to the congressman, especially since the White House is backing the general components of this bill.

If the relief package passes, qualified Guam residents can see another $1,200 EIP per person and up to $6,000 per family. The House also increased the dependent age to 24 (as long as the adult is in college). Non-child dependents also are included in this package.

The House also is restoring the weekly $600 FPUC for the qualified unemployed, backdated to July 31 and carrying through to January 2021.
