(Tumon, Guam) With Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero looking on, public health director explained to island media Wednesday that the government will begin taking people out of their homes if they test positive for COVID-19, and jail them in "a government of Guam isolation area."
"We want to make sure there is no cross contamination. We want to control the transmission of this disease. And by doing so, we will assess if they have a condition in their home that's suitable for all of them to live in. If it's not suitable, meaning they may have an elderly in that household with that positive patient, or another family member that also has co-morbid conditions, do don't want all of you in that house! So what we'll do? We'll take out the person that is positive and we'll put them in a government of Guam isolation area, and from there we'll move on." - Linda DeNorcey, director of public health
This new policy will be implemented following Saturday's pilot testing of clusters that begins in Astumbo, Dededo. Ms. DeNorcey did not explain how the government intends to do this without a warrant to enter private property or to arrest people from their homes and throw them into forced quarantine.
No other American jurisdiction is taking such extraordinary steps. Communist China, however, is.
Only if I can stay on the 19th floor....
I am on Saipan, but if they try this here I will exercise my 2nd Amendment rights to resist!
They have no legal authorization to enter a home and remove people. They would have to break down doors. Then Guam will be famous as it will make international headlines. Also, maybe one of the brainiacs on the medical advisory board should tell the gov that thousands may test positive and not have symptoms, or ever get sick. See the Stanford U. study and Denmark study. Threatening people will make many not want to be tested, defeating the benefits of testing. Gestapo mentality with self importance doctors who are not thinking about the bigger picture and civil rights VS health.
