(Tumon, Guam) Sen. Kelly Taitano set aside her anti-burning bill in session today, probably after realizing her bill has the unintended consequence of banning outdoor barbecues.
Senators resumed session today from its Thursday start to discuss bills affecting the government’s Coronavirus response.
Ms. Taitano introduced her anti-burning bill in an effort to curb grass fires started by trash burning. The language in her bill would outlaw all burning, which would include burning inside a barbecue pit.
The Legislature resumes its session Tuesday at 9 am. Kandit will continue to cover the proceedings live.
