(Tumon, Guam) Guam Police Officer Rachelle Benavente isn’t messing around. Jake Riec, who was born on Valentine’s Day 31 years ago ran away from her after she pulled him over.
She tackled him.
According to prosecutor Jeremy Kemper’s declaration of probable cause, Mr. Riec kicked Ms. Benavente multiple times, when she was trying to tell him to lay on his stomach. He kept resisting, but it didn’t work. Ms. Benavente subdued and arrested him.
Mr. Kemper accuses Mr. Riec of one count of assault on a peace officer as a third degree felony, and one count of resisting arrest as a misdemeanor.
Ms. Benavente is kind of a #badass.
