Sick? No school for 14 days

By Nancy I. Maanao

(Tumon, Guam) The superintendent of public schools is taking the threat of the coronavirus very seriously. He is the only public official in the executive branch thus far to take preventive measures to stop the possible spread of the sickness, just in case anyone has come in contact with the virus.

Jon Fernandez is requiring 14-day excused absence for any DOE student or employee who has recently been to China. This also applies to anyone who is coughing, has shortness of breath or fever, and anyone who has had direct contact with anyone who recently traveled to China.‬

He notes that the precautionary measures are being implemented to prevent the potential spread of the coronavirus.
