(Tumon, Guam) The formation of a significant tropical cyclone from Invest 94W over the next 24 hours now is likely, according to information by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center as of 7 p.m. (ChST) Monday.
Invest 94W now is 736 miles east-southeast of Guam and will track generally north-northwestward as if slowly intensifies.
The storm is moving toward Guam. It may pass south of Guam, or it may pass over Guam. Maximum sustained surface winds at this time are between 27 to 42 mph, though the system still is a largely disorganized low level structure.
"94W is currently in a favorable environment with good upper level outflow, low vertical wind shear, and warm sea surface temperatures," according to the JTWC.
Kandit will continue monitoring this storm.
