(Tumon, Guam) The Joint Typhoon Warning Center upgraded Invest 97W's potential for development into a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours to medium. The tropical disturbance as of 10 a.m. (ChST) was located at 8.0º N and 163.8º E, or about 1,300 miles southeast of Guam and 817 miles east of Chuuk.
97W continues moving on a west-northwest track.
