Typhoon Warning in effect for Saipan and Tinian

(Tumon, Guam) Bualoi, which is expected to be a typhoon soon, continues its west-northwest movement, with a forecast veering north of Saipan.


The National Weather Service has issued a Typhoon Warning for Saipan and Tinian. This means destructive winds of 74 mph or more are possible on those islands by Monday night.


A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Rota, and a Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for Guam. For Rota, this means damaging winds of 39 mph or more are possible there by Monday night.


For Guam, this means tropical storm conditions and possibly damaging winds of 39 mph or more are possible here by Monday night.
