The Marianas Regional Fusion Center is identifying the object seen falling from the skies of thee Marianas as an event connected "to a scheduled satellite test launch from China," according to a statement from Guam Homeland Security. "There was no direct threat assessed to the Marianas from the launch."
"Open sources report that a Chinese Long March 3B rocket was scheduled to launch the Palapa N1 communications satellite, also known as Nusantara Satu 2, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China on April 9 at 7:40 a.m. EDT," according to the GHS statement.
"This scheduled commercial space launch occurred around 9:40 p.m. ChST and corresponds with the timing of the widely circulated videos of thee fiery object in the sky."

UNFOLDING EVENT: Unidentified falling object over the Marianas
Guam Homeland Security spokeswoman Jenna Blas said GHS and the Marianas Fusion Center are working with partners to identify the source of what appears to be a falling object seen from the islands of the Marianas.
