(Tumon, Guam) A 13-year-old girl is scared to go home after her mother beat her, according to prosecutor Brendilynn Joseph’s declaration of probable cause against 38-year-old Maggie Dee Faisao.
Ms. Faisao, according to court documents, punched her daughter’s face three to four times after Ms. Faisao couldn’t find her comb. Ms. Faisao then told her, “If I punch you again, you’re going to sleep.” This happened the morning of Thursday, September 26. Her daughter didn’t go to school that day, nor did she go to school Friday.
Guam Police Officer R. Patague responded to a report at the girl’s school at about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 1. Officer Patague met with her school counselor, who told the officer about the incident of family violence.
Ms. Joseph accuses Ms. Faisao of family violence as a misdemeanor, and child abuse as a misdemeanor.
It is unclear whether Ms. Faisao and her daughter have been separated for the girl’s protection.
